BERNAL HEIGHTS, SAN FRANCISCO — Young people who enjoy writing, drawing or simply having a quiet creative outlet can visit a Journal Hour at Bernal Heights Branch Library on Friday, November 6, from 4 to 5 p.m.
Who can attend
The San Francisco Public Library’s official event page describes the program as suitable for ages 8 through 17. Participants are invited to relax after the school week by doodling, drawing or writing in a journal.
The event is not advertised as a therapy session or clinical mental-health service. It is a creative library program intended to provide time and space for self-expression.
Where to go
The activity is in the Bernal Heights Meeting Room at 500 Cortland Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94110. The library says programs are generally drop-in with no registration unless a particular listing says otherwise.
Families should call 415-355-2810 to confirm any changes or ask questions about age suitability, supplies and participation. For accessibility accommodations, the public library lists 415-557-4557 and accessibility@sfpl.org; advance requests are helpful.
A note about photography and privacy
The library’s event notice says programs may be photographed or filmed for institutional purposes and advises anyone who does not want to appear in images to tell staff. California58 is not reproducing photographs of children from the event without an appropriate rights and privacy review.
More information about the program is available through the official SFPL event entry.
